Picks
Gane by Split Decision, I spoke about potential point deductions in this fight, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this fight ends in No Contest or Draw.
Alexa By Split Decision, Alexa’s Moneyline is a viable bet for me, I wouldn’t be surprised if Grasso pulls out a late sub in rounds 3 thru 5.
Neal by KO, I like this matchup for Geoff. He shouldn’t be letting Shavkat get comfortable striking at range. Rakhmonov's boxing fundamentals are very sound. He is a deserved favorite in this fight. Geoff is, however, is a great value bet for me, because his wrestling defense is solid and his power will be a problem for Shavkat.
Turner by KO, can Jalin become the first fighter to KO Gamrot? It’s a tall order. Gamrot does not have much trouble in strikers, but I like Jalin to find his way out of wrestling sequences and find a spectacular finish of some sort, like a flying knee.
Bo Nickal by anyhow he wants, it’s an interesting matchup because everybody and their grandma are betting Nickal round one. You know I’m different. :) Pickett only needs to survive round one for me to enjoy beautiful round 2 ITD props. They are so juicy, so I will have Bo in Round 2 by Sub and by KO props, both straight and in parlays.
Cody vs. Jones. The problem for Cody is that Jones is notoriously hard to finish, and he hits hard. But Trevin’s striking volume is pretty low. Takedown path for Cody? I don’t see it as a viable path for No Love, on the contrary, it might affect his cardio, and Jones can find a finish. My hope is that Jones will put pressure and go first, and it’s a big hope right there. It’s like hoping the Wizards will be NBA champions this season or in the next ten seasons or ever. But, Jones has as many ways of winning this fight as Cody. My pick is Jones by KO.
I like Dricus as a fighter who always fights for my money, but Brunson is a beast, and Blonde Brunson almost made it to the title shot. Is Derek getting disrespected here? A little bit. I think DDP’s pressure will be a problem for Derek, and with retirement looming, it’s hard to imagine we’re going to see the best Brunson, but it should be competitive. I like Dricus by TKO.
Vivi by Dec, I wouldn’t be surprised if she finds a late finish, though.
MAB by KO, I’m hearing Marquez is not training hard these days, but even if he did, it’s hard to imagine he wins, unless it’s a meme sub.
Machado by KO, I’m not betting it since Garry doesn’t have a sense of urgency to finish the fights, but maybe he discovers it on Saturday.
Cameron is talented but young very young, and Mana has great power. I like Martinez to put away Saaiman. Mana by KO.
Ricci by Dec, I wouldn’t be surprised if she subs Penne late. I will have her sub 2,3 props in my parlays.
Farid vs. Da’Mon. Blackshear is a very talented fighter, he is complete, and Farid is very talented by green. It’s a tough first fight for Farid. I will be cheering for him, but it may very well go to a split decision. I like Da’Mon by Decision.
Loik vs. Ribovics. Don’t get me wrong, I like to see another Tajik fighter in the UFC, but Loik is not Nurullo. Loik has great takedowns, but his ground control is not good, and his cardio is subpar; I like young Ribovics on a full camp here. Probably via Split Decision, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Esteban catches Loik on the takedown entry with some flashy knee and puts him away.
Bets
Marc-Andre Barriault to win inside the distance, currently at +175
Vivi Araujo to win, currently at +110
Ian Machado to win inside the distance, currently at -175
Dricus to win inside the distance, currently at -118
Ricci to win inside the distance, currently +325
